⚡️What to Expect from Your Electrical Safety Visit

At Booker & Best, your safety is our priority. As part of your landlord’s commitment to keeping homes safe, we’ve been asked to carry out an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) in your property

🛠 Why is an Electrical Test Important?

Every home’s electrical system can wear down over time. This test helps make sure your sockets, wiring and fuse board are safe to use and meet current regulations.

  • Its a bit like an MOT for your home’s electrics.
  • We’ll check for any wear and tear, potential faults or fire risks.
  • Most visits take 1-2 hours depending on the size of your home.

🔧What will happen during the visit?

One of our qualified electricians will arrive at your property at the agreed time. Here’s what to expect:

  • They’ll show ID and explain what they’ll be doing.
  • Power may be turned off briefly while test are carried out.
  • They’ll check sockets, switches, fuse board and fixed wiring.
  • Any urgent issues will be made safe immediately.

Smoke alarm check and upgrade

As part of your visit, we’ll also:

  • Test your existing smoke and heat alarms
  • Upgrade them if needed to meet current safety standards
  • show you how to test your alarms regularly
  • Explain what to do if they go off in an emergency

We’ll make sure your alarms are properly placed and working – they really do save lives.

🙋‍♀️How you can help

  • Make sure someone over 18 is home for the appointment.
  • Clear access to your fuse board and sockets where possible.
  • Let us know in advance if you need any support or have concerns.
